Description

Bavafil® PETG Glow in the Dark combines the technical advantages of PETG with a captivating optical effect. By incorporating high-quality phosphorescent pigments, the material charges under light and emits this charge as an intense glow in the dark. Thanks to its robust PETG base, this filament is not only visually stunning but also highly durable.

Special features:

  • Strong glow effect: The optimized pigment density ensures a long-lasting and intense luminosity after light charging.
  • High impact strength: Like all our PETG filaments, the Glow variant is significantly tougher and more break-resistant than PLA – ideal for functional gadgets, emergency markings or design objects.
  • Chemical & Thermal Resistance: With a heat resistance of approximately 70°C and high resistance to environmental influences, it is versatile in its applications.
  • Precise processing: The material impresses with low warping and excellent layer adhesion, which facilitates the printing of complex geometries.
  • AMS-Ready: Our 1.0 kg spools are fully compatible with multi-material systems such as the Bambu Lab AMS .

Important hardware note: The glow-in-the-dark particles are highly abrasive . To avoid premature wear, we strongly recommend using a hardened steel nozzle . Standard brass nozzles can wear out quickly.

Product performance

SPECIFICATION

  • PET-G filament on spool, vacuum packed
  • Net weight: 1000g, Gross weight: 1250g
  • Density in g/cm³: 1.29
  • Diameter: 1.75mm +/- 0.05mm
  • Roundness: +/-3%
  • Extruder temperature depending on printing speed and layer thickness: 220°C - 235°C
  • Recommended extruder temperature for initial tests: 225°C
  • Print bed: approx. 60°C - 80°C for better adhesion and less shrinkage

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Suitable for direct drive and Bowden extruders
  • Printing speed 30-110mm/s depending on nozzle temperature and layer thickness

The first layer should be 0.3mm thick to compensate for unevenness in the print bed. Large parts should be printed with a heated print bed.
Setting the blower fan to 60% after the first layer helps cool the melt quickly enough, especially on overhangs. If particularly high mechanical strength is required, the blower fan should be switched off or run at only 25% power. Excessive cooling of PET-G reduces its mechanical strength. Bavafil PET-G is suitable for direct drive and Bowden extruders.

1. General Security Information

  • For trained personnel only: 3D printing with PET-G filament requires knowledge of printer settings and material behavior. Children may only operate the 3D printer under adult supervision.
  • Use only in well-ventilated rooms: Fumes can be produced when printing with PET-G. Therefore, adequate ventilation (ideally active extraction or filters) is required to ensure air quality.

2. Instructions for handling PET-G filament

  • Store in a cool, dry placePET-G is sensitive to moisture. Store the filament in an airtight container and, if necessary, with a desiccant.
  • Protect from UV radiationSunlight can cause the material to age prematurely and become brittle.
  • Safe handling during printingDo not touch hot components (e.g. nozzle, heated bed) and avoid contact with moving parts during operation.

3. Special safety instructions

  • Child and pet protection:Keep children and animals away from the printing area. Filament remnants or loose parts can be swallowed or pose a risk of injury.

First aid in case of incidents:

  • Burns: Immediately cool skin with cold water after contact with hot printer parts or molten filament; seek medical help if necessary.
  • fumesIf you experience discomfort or irritation from fumes: leave the room immediately, go outside to fresh air, and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

4. User responsibility

  • Careful handling requiredThe user is responsible for proper handling and safe operation.
  • Suitable protective clothing recommendedWhen removing prints or performing maintenance work, heat-resistant gloves and, if necessary, safety glasses are recommended.
