Description

Bavafil® PSflex support material is the next generation of soluble support materials. While conventional HIPS is often brittle and can splinter when removed, PSflex stands out due to its unique flexibility. This material property not only ensures a more stable printing process but also makes post-processing your parts more efficient than ever before.

The key advantages of PSflex:

  • Break-resistant & Flexible: Unlike brittle HIPS, PSflex does not break uncontrollably. Thanks to its flexibility, the material can often be peeled off the component manually in large pieces, which greatly simplifies mechanical pre-cleaning.
  • Superior solubility: When it comes to residue-free removal in hard-to-reach areas, PSflex demonstrates its strengths. It dissolves significantly faster in D'Limonene than standard HIPS – saving valuable time in post-production.
  • Excellent surfaces: PSflex provides an ideal support structure for complex overhangs and cavities, ensuring that the contact surfaces of your main material remain clean and precise.
  • Reliable processing: The material is chemically optimized to create very good adhesion to the model material, but can be separated without leaving any residue after printing.
  • Multi-Material Ready: Ideally suited for printers with dual extruders or multi-material systems (such as the Bambu Lab AMS ) to create complex geometries without compromising surface quality.

Application recommendation :

PSflex is the ideal partner for materials that are printed at similar temperatures (e.g., ABS, ASA, or PETG). After printing, most of the support material can be easily removed manually. Any remaining residue in fine channels or complex structures is simply dissolved in a bath of d'limonene.

750g spools with a 1.75 diameter are available.

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Suitable for direct-drive and Bowden extruders

1. General Security Information

  • For trained personnel only: 3D printing with PSflex filament requires knowledge of printer settings and material behavior. Children may only operate the 3D printer under adult supervision.
  • Use only in well-ventilated rooms: Fumes can be produced when printing with PSflex. Therefore, adequate ventilation (ideally active extraction or filters) is required to ensure air quality.

2. Instructions for handling PSflex filament

  • Store in a dry and cool place: Store the filament in an airtight container and, if necessary, with a desiccant.
  • Protect from UV radiation: Sunlight can cause the material to age prematurely and become brittle.
  • Safe handling during printing: Do not touch hot components (e.g. nozzle, heated bed) and avoid contact with moving parts during operation.

3. Special safety instructions

  • Child and pet safety: Keep children and animals away from the printing area. Filament remnants or loose parts can be swallowed or pose a risk of injury.
  • First aid in case of incidents: Burns: Immediately cool skin with cold water after contact with hot printer parts or molten filament; seek medical help if necessary. Fumes: If you feel unwell or are irritated by fumes: Leave the room immediately, go to fresh air, and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

4. User responsibility

  • Careful handling is required: The user is responsible for proper handling and safe operation.
  • Suitable protective clothing recommended: When removing prints or performing maintenance work, heat-resistant gloves and, if necessary, safety glasses are advisable.
