Description

BavaFil® PET-G CF Black is a high-performance technical filament specifically developed for applications requiring maximum stability and precision. Enriched with 10% carbon fibers , this material offers significantly higher strength and stiffness than conventional PET-G. What makes it special is that it is based on pure post-consumer waste , thus combining cutting-edge technology with exemplary circular economy practices.

Outstanding features:

  • Improved mechanics: The integrated carbon fibers provide enormous stiffness and reduce material elongation, resulting in highly resilient and dimensionally stable components.
  • Exclusive aesthetics: The carbon fibers give the objects a deep black, matte finish with a unique texture that makes layer lines almost invisible.
  • Maximum precision: Thanks to the extremely low distortion (warping) and the excellent layer adhesion, even complex technical components can be produced with high dimensional accuracy.
  • Sustainable innovation: The use of recycled post-consumer materials conserves resources and significantly reduces the ecological footprint of your production.
  • AMS-Ready: Our coils are fully compatible with multi-material systems such as the Bambu Lab AMS .

Ideal areas of application:

Due to its robustness, the filament is ideally suited for mechanical engineering, customer-specific tools (jigs & fixtures) and functional components in the automotive sector.

Product performance

SPECIFICATION

  • PET-G filament on spool, vacuum packed
  • Net weight: 1000g, Gross weight: 1250g
  • Density in g/cm³: 1.34
  • Diameter: 1.75mm +/- 0.05mm
  • Roundness: +/-3%
  • Extruder temperature depending on printing speed and layer thickness: 250° +/- 10°
  • Recommended extruder temperature for initial tests: 250°C
  • Print bed: approx. 60°C - 80°C for better adhesion and less shrinkage
  • Hardened nozzles recommended
  • Increased temperature resistance (approx. 90°C)

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Suitable for direct drive and Bowden extruders
  • Printing speed 30-200mm/s depending on nozzle temperature and layer thickness
  • Tested on a BambuLab X1C at standard speed and 255° nozzle temperature.

The first layer should be 0.3mm thick to compensate for unevenness in the print bed. Large parts should be printed with a heated print bed.
Setting the blower fan to 60% after the first layer helps cool the melt quickly enough, especially on overhangs. If particularly high mechanical strength is required, the blower fan should be switched off or run at only 25% power. Cooling PET-G too quickly reduces its mechanical strength.

1. General Security Information

  • For trained personnel only: 3D printing with PET-G filament requires knowledge of printer settings and material behavior. Children may only operate the 3D printer under adult supervision.
  • Use only in well-ventilated rooms: Fumes can be produced when printing with PET-G. Therefore, adequate ventilation (ideally active extraction or filters) is required to ensure air quality.

2. Instructions for handling PET-G filament

  • Store in a cool, dry placePET-G is sensitive to moisture. Store the filament in an airtight container and, if necessary, with a desiccant.
  • Protect from UV radiationSunlight can cause the material to age prematurely and become brittle.
  • Safe handling during printingDo not touch hot components (e.g. nozzle, heated bed) and avoid contact with moving parts during operation.

3. Special safety instructions

  • Child and pet protection:Keep children and animals away from the printing area. Filament remnants or loose parts can be swallowed or pose a risk of injury.

First aid in case of incidents:

  • Burns: Immediately cool skin with cold water after contact with hot printer parts or molten filament; seek medical help if necessary.
  • fumesIf you experience discomfort or irritation from fumes: leave the room immediately, go outside to fresh air, and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

4. User responsibility

  • Careful handling requiredThe user is responsible for proper handling and safe operation.
  • Suitable protective clothing recommendedWhen removing prints or performing maintenance work, heat-resistant gloves and, if necessary, safety glasses are recommended.
