Description

Bavafil® PSflex was specifically developed to meet the high demands of sophisticated model making. Wherever standard plastics are too brittle or difficult to work with, PSflex demonstrates its strengths. Thanks to its permanent residual flexibility and excellent chemical properties, it is the ideal material for delicate work, prototypes, and highly detailed replicas.

Why PSflex is the first choice for model builders:

Break-resistant flexibility: Unlike brittle PLA or ABS, PSflex remains flexible even after printing. This means that small parts won't break during assembly, and the model can withstand rough handling.
Excellent adhesive properties: PSflex bonds exceptionally well with standard cyanoacrylate adhesive . This enables fast and extremely stable assembly of components.
Perfect for finishing: The surface is optimized to readily accept paints and varnishes. After degreasing, the material can be painted without the need for complex special primers.
Easy post-processing: Due to its tough flexibility, the material is significantly easier to cut, grind and drill than hard standard filaments, without the material splintering.

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

Suitable for direct drive and Bowden extruders
Printing speed 30-100mm/s depending on nozzle temperature and layer thickness

The first layer should be 0.3mm thick to compensate for unevenness in the print bed. The first layer should be printed at 130% print width to improve adhesion.

Setting the blower fan to 100% after the first layer helps to cool the melt quickly enough on overhangs.

1. General Security Information

For trained personnel only: 3D printing with PSflex filament requires knowledge of printer settings and material behavior. Children may only operate the 3D printer under adult supervision.
Use only in well-ventilated rooms: Fumes can be produced when printing with PSflex. Therefore, adequate ventilation (ideally active extraction or filters) is required to ensure air quality.

2. Instructions for handling PSflex filament

Store in a dry and cool place: Store the filament in an airtight container and, if necessary, with a desiccant.
Protect from UV radiation: Sunlight can cause the material to age prematurely and become brittle.
Safe handling during printing: Do not touch hot components (e.g. nozzle, heated bed) and avoid contact with moving parts during operation.

3. Special safety instructions

Child and pet safety: Keep children and animals away from the printing area. Filament remnants or loose parts can be swallowed or pose a risk of injury.
First aid in case of incidents: Burns: Immediately cool skin with cold water after contact with hot printer parts or molten filament; seek medical help if necessary. Fumes: If you feel unwell or are irritated by fumes: Leave the room immediately, go to fresh air, and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

4. User responsibility

Careful handling is required: The user is responsible for proper handling and safe operation.
Suitable protective clothing recommended: When removing prints or performing maintenance work, heat-resistant gloves and, if necessary, safety glasses are advisable.
